As well as being a qualified STGA affiliated guide, I am an artist and teacher, who lives and works in Orkney.

It is always a pleasure to show off Orkney to visitors, hopefully with my “creative eye”. As well as the rightly famous historical sites which most visitors want to see, there are lesser known points of interest everywhere. The scenery is subtle but magnificent and the constantly changing weather can be challenging but always spectacular. This all helps to make Orkney an inspirational place for artists, photographers and writers.

I can take you to places that will stir your heart and soul. I have an excellent knowledge of the history of the islands and can guide you in detail around sites such as Skara Brae, St. Magnus Cathedral and the Ring of Brodgar.  I will spice up the history with anecdotes and folklore and I can give you a real insight into life in Orkney today.

I am a “step on” guide – I can ride with you in your vehicle or meet you to go walking as you prefer.

My family also runs the historic Bed and Breakfast at Highland Park House in Kirkwall. Invariably, our guests share their plans and experiences with us and this gives me a most useful insight when planning tours.
