Island Tours of Hoy

A warm welcome awaits you on the Island of Hoy, the second largest island in the Orkney archipelago with a population of approximately only 400 residents.   Hoy or Haey, the Old Norse word for high, is unique, and very different from the Orkney Mainland and other isles.  The vertical cliffs are the highest in the British Isles, there are vast swathes of wilderness, an abundance of wildlife, with a history stretching from the Neolithic era to recent times. Steven provides a scheduled tour service every Thursday throughout the year; available on other days are individually designed driven or walking tours which could include walks to the Old Man of Hoy, Wilderness Walks, Nature tours or Wartime Themed Tours along the shores of Scapa Flow and the Pentland Firth.   All tours begin and end at the ferry terminal.

Steven, your guide, is a member of the Scottish and Orkney Tourist Guides Associations, the only qualified Green Badge Driver Tour Guide resident on the Island of Hoy and also trained as World Host excellence in customer service.  You will be expertly driven in a comfortable MPV, with plenty of legroom, by your guide, who is MIDAS-qualified (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme).

He is enthusiastic about all types of tours, whether they be individual, group, bespoke, coach, walking tours or for cruise ships.  He has a wealth of experience and is an expert in his local environment, which will help you achieve a wonderful and memorable day out, taking in all that the beautiful Island of Hoy has to offer which will meet, and likely exceed your expectations.
