I am originally from one of Orkney's small islands called Westray, where we ran my husband’s family farm. We now live in Kirkwall,
Orkney's main town.
On Westray our dialect has strong Norse connections so not only will I tell you about Orkney you will hear a local accent.
I am proud to be a born and bred Orcadian and feel privileged to share what I think makes Orkney so special. I hope you will think its special too.
My interests are many and varied. Playing golf, family history, photography, farming and Orkney history are just a few examples.
My work history is also varied, I worked at Noltland Castle as Key Keeper and Guide, a Youth Development Worker in Westray and Kirkwall and Green Keeper and Project Management at the Westray Golf Club.
I have always been involved in Community groups, the Community Spirit in Orkney is a huge reason why it is such a great place to live and work.
I have qualified as an STGA accredited Orkney Tourist Guide which has given me the confidence to do a job I love.
My daughter Carrie and I have started a small tour company See Orkney.
