Orkney Highlights Tours

Hello, my name is Chris, I’m a double Green Badge Guide, qualified as a regional specialist for both Orkney and the North Highlands of Scotland by the Scottish Tourist Guide Association. I am also a member of the Highlands of Scotland Tour Guides Association (HOSTGA) and the Scottish Independent Tour Operators Association (SITO) and hold the “Welcome Host” Accreditation.

Orkney has been my home for nearly 50 years, so I’m ideally placed to offer you tours of our beautiful and historic islands.

​

I own my own fully licenced car, which comfortably seats 8 passengers.  I have suitable car seats for smaller children. The vehicle is fully insured and licenced and is regularly inspected.

​

I also work as a step on guide on coaches or minibuses.

​

During your tour I’ll tell you tales and anecdotes from the islands, giving you an insight into Orkney’s history and culture, and we may explore the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Area ‘The Heart of Neolithic Orkney.

You’ll see our beautiful and fertile landscape and wildlife along the way and we may also sample the local food and drink.  Tours can be customised to suit your own interests, whether that is the Neolithic, the mysterious Bronze Age, Iron Age and Viking Orkney or arts and crafts, more recent wartime history or stunning cliffs and remote islands.
