Merryn is a qualified archaeologist and Orkney tour guide with a special interest in the Stone Age. She gained her Honours Degree in Ancient History and Archaeology at Manchester University in 1995 and her Masters in 1998. She has, since then, pursued her own research into ancient and traditional brewing techniques as well as teaching evening classes on all aspects of the Stone Age from the Palaeolithic to the Neolithic.
A regular visitor to Orkney since the early 1990s, she moved here in 2003 and now works part time at the Tomb of the Eagles Visitor Centre, South Ronaldsay. She is available to give walking tours or as a step on guide and can also give slide shows and presentations about Stone and Bronze Age Orkney and about her research into prehistoric brewing techniques.
