Getting here

We cannot arrange your travel to Orkney, but there are a number of different ways to get to here:

Arrival by ferry:

Northlink Ferries sail from Scrabster near Thurso to Stromness and also from Aberdeen to Kirkwall. The Kirkwall - Aberdeen sailing makes good connections with rail services & is probably the best route if you are using public transport, but arrives very late at night in Kirkwall and is overnight going south.

Pentland Ferries Ltd sail from Gill's Bay near Thurso to St. Margaret's Hope.

John o’ Groats Ferries: summer sailings and foot passengers only from John O' Groats to Burwick

Arrival by air:

Flybe fly to Kirkwall Airport from Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow, operated by Loganar, with connections beyond on Flybe services.

British Airways  have a codeshare agreement with Loganair, which means you can book a through flight to Kirkwall with BA.

Easyjet fly into Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh, whilst Ryanair flies into Glasgow

Travel Agent:

Ridgway Travel is our local Orkney-based travel agent, whose staff are very good at arranging travel to Orkney.
