Enhance your Orkney experience with a qualified Orkney guide
I'm one of the partners along with Caz Mamwell in Orkney Archaeology Tours, a specialist company running small group holidays, private short breaks and day tours. We have our own comfortable 8 seat air-conditioned touring vehicle, fully licensed and insured. I usually specialise in step-on guiding leaving Caz to do the driver-guiding and holidays.
I qualified as an Orkney Tourist Guide in 2005, and as a German language guide in 2008.
I'm a professional archaeologist and specialist osteoarchaeologist, and also lecture in Osteoarchaeology at Orkney College - part of the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Both my BSc in Archaeological Sciences and my MSc with distinction in human palaeopathology and osteoarchaeology are from the University of Bradford.
I'm currently working on a full-time PhD, a collaborative project between the University of Bradford and the Orkney Museum on the Neolithic human remains from Isbister.
This means not much time for guiding in the next few years, but I'm managing to fit some tours in.
